Each week, I can see and feel my progress as an artist! Every photo shoot comes out better than the last, with more and more successful shots! This week, I did my first shoot with wardrobe changes, which was incredible. It adds a bit of diversity to the set of pictures. I was also taking pictures at a new site, which was great because my other shoots were mostly at the same places. Of course, the weather still refuses to be good to my models and me, but this week, my model was very tough as we took many pictures with no jacket or gloves. It's never an easy job, but somebody has to do it! I am feeling very confident in my results, and I am so excited to continue on this journey with all of my viewers. I am hoping to have different things soon, but I am still searching for places to take pictures inside, or at least some new settings outside. I really wish spring would hurry, though! This winter weather is dreary and tiresome. That's all I have to share with you all for now, but, as always, please feel free to leave any feedback! Have a great week, and I will post again next Sunday!
I am happy to report back this week with pictures hot off the press! I was very excited to get out and take some wonderful shots today of one of my beautiful best friends! I was unsure whether or not I was going to take any this weekend, because our school's Winterball was Saturday, so I was extra busy and tired. Ultimately, I decided it would be unfair of me to skip out on another week of taking pictures, so I hurried and found someone to model for me and snapped away. I feel like this was the coldest shoot I have done so far. My model and I were frozen by the end of the day, but I am extremely pleased with how the photos turned out. Hearing everyone's feedback is my favorite part of these photo sessions, so please leave your thoughts, comments, or ideas! I love to see what people like that I am doing, and I appreciate hearing what I could be doing better. I am also always open for suggestions of any sort. Hopefully, within the next two weeks, I will have a poll of ideas that you all, my viewers, can vote on to help me decide what I should do next! Until then, enjoy the pictures, and have a blessed week! Unfortunately, this week has been very cold and snowy here in the Midwest. Due to the terrible weather, I couldn't complete a photo shoot, but I did get to snap a few pictures yesterday of my German Shepherd puppy, Roscoe, playing in the snow. I am hoping that next week, I will be able to get a photo shoot set up and follow through with it! I have so many ideas floating around in my head lately that I can't really decide what to do next. Although I love embracing the snow to create lovely photos, I feel my options are quite limited. I am struggling to find indoor settings with proper lighting to take photos of people. My goal this week will definitely be to find more places I can take pictures, because my models don't appreciate freezing their butts off, no matter how great the pictures turn out! I am open for any suggestions for ideas and any feedback, so please feel free to add any comments. I appreciate any and all support that I get from my viewers! As I wrapped up my first day of shooting pictures for my twenty time project, I discovered that following the strict themes on the challenge I created was quite difficult. When I attempted to photograph only those items, I felt extremely restricted as an artist, and ultimately, I felt very uncomfortable with the "requirements" I had. With that being said, I have decided to slightly alter my project. I will still be taking and posting pictures each week, but I will be doing so with limited guidelines. I will most likely incorporate a few of the aforementioned themes each week, but I will not limit myself to only one. I am hoping that this decision will help me expand my creativity and imagination, ultimately improving my photography skills. To begin my Photography Journal, I have attached a few of the shots I took today. I am open to any feedback, especially any constructive criticism that may help me become a better artist. Enjoy! I decided that my 20 time project would be to do a photo challenge, similar to the ones used on Instagram for each month, but I've created my own, I will be doing a challenge each week, and my subjects interpret the photography aspect, unlike the Instagram challenges, which are very simple; selfies and pictures saved from Google. The purpose of doing this project is to create a sort of portfolio of my photos. I chose this project because I love photography, and the challenges will really put my photography skills to the test, and hopefully I will improve my skills by the end of the school year. Achieving this goal has the opportunity to be simple, but I will have to go out each week to find how I want to capture each challenge. I have purposely chosen subjects that take much more effort than simple subjects such as trees, snow, or people. I have specifically chosen emotions, adjectives, and a few slightly simple ideas that I hope to interpret into my own, unique photos.
I've already used Pinterest to help me find ideas for my challenges each week, and I will also be using a photo editing website to improve the quality of my photos. I already own an Olympus Camera, which is a professional type of camera. I have also already taken the first step to achieving my goal, which was ordering a new battery charger for my camera online because I lost mine. I am hoping to start my challenge next week as soon as the charger comes in. I am very open for any suggestions on challenges I can do, because my list is not set in stone. I purposely did not number them, because I don't feel like I need to have a specific one I need to do each week. I created an image (attached) so I have something to reference to, and I have also written them out on a sheet of paper. I am very excited to share my journey through this project with anyone reading this! -Sara I'm Sara! I'm 16 years old and a sophomore in Ms. Zylka's Honors English class. My favorite color is purple and I love Netflix. I'm a movie junky, a bookworm, and I aspire to be a photographer. I listen to a lot of different music. I am not very outgoing in new places, and I am terrible at meeting new people and making new friends. I have a wild imagination, and I am always making up stories, so I'd definitely say my thoughts are all over the place.
