This week, I want to focus on one big thing: MOMS. The first part of this post will be a few shots I took for a friend of mine of her sister and her for a gift for their mom on Mother's Day. I'm very happy with how they turned out, and the only editing I did was auto exposures and a few black and white. For my final post, I am hoping to do a very big, very meaningful topic/theme, so check back next week to see my grand finale of my 20x project!
This is my mama. She's a crazy woman. She embarrasses me 90% of the time, and she drives me nuts, but she is my hero. My mom is my biggest supporter in all of my dreams and goals, even my silly dream of being famous. This is hands down the strongest woman I have ever met. My mom is a breast cancer survivor, and as I followed her through the tough journey of cancer, she taught me how to be strong and how to fight like a girl. I would not be the young woman I am today without a mom as incredible as mine. She held my hand through every rough patch and never let me give up on myself. There is no way I can ever repay my mom for everything she's done for me, but I will spend the rest of my life trying. I love you, Mom. :)
This week, my photo shoot includes pictures of my incredibly beautiful friend, Olivia, who is also a signed model up in Chicago. I am very pleased with how these pictures turned out, and I hope every one of you agrees! I truly cannot believe that the school year is almost over and I am almost finished with my 20x blog! Have a good week, and please leave any comments below!
I also had the opportunity to meet Victoria's Secret Angel, Karlie Kloss. She is a very talented, extremely beautiful woman, who was incredibly kind and completely interested in what we had to say!
My blog has been very dry lately, but I am excited to report with some new pictures!! I'm not a big nature photographer, so these might not be too good, but I figured since I was in Alabama, a far more beautiful state than Illinois, I should take some pictures,so here's a small view of what my family vacation consisted of. I am hoping to get a few more photo shoots in before this project is over, but I have a very busy schedule for the next few weeks. Hopefully I will have new pictures to share next week!
I want to begin by apologizing for not posting last weekend. I was extremely busy with my fake baby from parenting class and completely blanked on updating my blog for you guys! I did not get to do a photo shoot last weekend or this weekend, but I have successfully started a Facebook page for my photography. As of right now, I don't have many likes, and all of my likes are limited to Facebook friends, but I will hopefully be able to expand my viewers like I have with this blog! All of my photographs from my 20x project are available on my page, and hopefully I will have more exciting things to do with the page later on. I am not completely sure what I am going to do with this page, but I'm hoping that creating the page is a good start. Please feel free to like the page on Facebook and leave any kinds of suggestions, comments, or requests in the comments! I won't be able to post next weekend because I will be in Alabama on vacation with my family, so hopefully the following weekend, I will have plenty of pictures to share with you all! Thank you for viewing!
As we wrap up week twelve of the twenty time projects, I am extremely pleased with my results. This week, I decided to reuse a model from a past shoot, because not many people have been very willing to help me out with this project and model for me. It was much nicer during this shoot than the last one, and I really love these pictures! I am extremely happy that the snow is gone, hopefully for good until next winter. I have so many summer ideas that I can't wait to share with you all! I want to thank all of you for viewing my blog every week, for leaving great feedback, and for allowing me to share my passion of photography with each and every one of you. I am still struggling to find an end product to this project, so if anyone has any ideas, I would really love to hear them! Have a great week, and thank you for viewing!
I want to apologize for going MIA this past week. I decided to use spring break as just that, a break. Although I did not pull out my camera and have any photo shoots, I did get a few shots here and there of my simple, everyday life. This post will basically just be a fun little collection of my spring break adventures! I will be back on track with my photo shoots hopefully next week! Enjoy, and I'm sorry for the lack of art!
As promised, here are the pictures from my aunt's wedding I shot Saturday! Unfortunately, my camera decided to bail on me right before the wedding started, so I could only take my pictures in action mode. The lighting and quality of the pictures during the wedding are not very good, so I won't share many from the ceremony. I will, however, be sharing the pictures I took of my aunt getting ready. This was an incredible learning experience, and I finally got permission to buy a new camera! If anyone has any suggestions for what kind of camera I should get, I would love the help. Enjoy, and as always, please feel free to leave feedback!
This post will be short and simple tonight. This weekend, I did my aunt's wedding pictures, and I am very excited to get them uploaded to my computer and share them with you all. Because this shoot is obviously extremely important to go through and sort and edit the pictures thoroughly, I will not be able to post them until sometime this week. I am hoping to have them up by Tuesday, so please stay tuned!
I am so happy with my photos from this week. I have been trying to figure out how to edit all of the pictures perfectly, and I definitely feel like I am getting better. I took these pictures of my friend Maddie, who I have been best friends with since kindergarten. She has definitely been one of my favorite models, although I love all of them so much, and these pictures turned out fantastic. I found an abandoned shed out in the country by where Maddie lives, and it was very beautiful. Enjoy the pictures and please leave feedback if you can!
Along with my photo shoot this week, I want to share a story about an incredibly strong, tough little girl fighting her 3rd round of cancer. Maddie's (the model above) little sister Zayla was diagnosed with Leukemia when she was 3, she beat it, it came back when she was about 6, and she beat it again. This past summer, Zay was diagnosed with a brain tumor a bit bigger than a tangerine, and since then has had a huge benefit where she raised thousands of dollars, a lot of which she plans on donating to other family's with children who have cancer. Zayla has been doing chemotherapy, and her tumor, which she named Bob, is now about the size of a dime. Zayla has become a bit of a celebrity around the area, spreading her motto, "The third time's a charm!" She is such an inspiring, nearly 13 year old girl, who has made such a large impact on not only my life, but so many other people's lives. I attached a collage of pictures I stole off of her mother's Facebook page and uploaded to Instagram, which was later used as the background of the fliers for her benefit. If you want to look up her story or her Facebook page, you can google "Zayla Mitsdarffer." You can see all of the events that have been held for her, or in honor of her, and view the Team Zayla facebook page. I strongly encourage you take some time to read about her and hopefully she can inspire you like she has inspired me!
Wow, I've been running this blog for seven weeks and it's really crazy! I love all of the comments and feedback I have been getting on my photos. I have people commenting on Facebook, messaging me, and telling me in person that they really enjoy my work. It is an incredible feeling! It makes me smile when I hear someone tell me that they love the pictures I've taken. This project has really been helping me grow as an artist, develop a better confidence in my work, and has just been an all around great experience! Unfortunately, I have been sick all week, so I was not able to go to school, let alone have a photo shoot. I am hoping that I will be up and running again next week, because I really feel like I'm letting my viewers down by not providing any new pictures. I will, however, post a few old pictures I've shot or edited. I know it isn't the same, but I guess a little blast to the past never hurt anyone! As always, please feel free to leave any feedback and enjoy!
